Proper sleep is very necessary for our health. Adults need some 7 to 8 hours in this connection.
You cannot expect good health if you are not taking proper sleep rather it will damage your health.
The damage would be severe and maybe irreparable in most of the cases. You would not be able to perform your day-to-day tasks and will feel uncomfortable all the day.
In simple words, you will ruin your health in long run and it will be a great loss for you.
So, it is not a better idea to compromise in this regard.
