I am a very patriotic Pakistani and I would really love to see Pakistan win this year’s World Cup
that will be played in Australia and New Zealand from Feb 14th.
But I am a realistic as well and looking the performance of Pakistan team against New Zealand in the two match series, I am very doubtful if Pakistan will progress much. We just do not have the bowlers to restrict a team to a small total and in absence of Umar Gul, Junaid Khan, Hafeez and Saeed Ajmal, our cupboard is looking very empty.
I am just surprised that we have so many bowling legends associated with our cricket nowadays with Waqar Younis, Mushtaq and Saqlain all serving as bowling coaches and mentors and still we do not have a single match winning bowler. Even Irfan and Shahid Afridi looked ordinary against sixth ranked Kiwi Team. How will we fare against India, England, South Africa and Australia, only time will tell.
We have a population of almost 180 million and maybe even more. Isn't is sad that in a nation that loves cricket, we are not able to produce 4-5 men who can take place of Wasim, Waqar and Shoaib Akhtar. With Afridi and Misbah retiring, our youth will not even have any cricket heroes to look up to.
Whether it is favoritism, corruption, lack of hard work or just carelessness, the future does not look good for Pakistan cricket team and this makes me very sad.

Keeping in view two recent matches of Pakistan it seems that Pakistani team will not even approach to semifinal. But anything can happen and hopes don't have cost.
